Throne Scene Final

Finally I have finished the work for my portfolio class. I have to admit that there is a long way to go with lighting. There are other 3D scenes like a witch room and a weapons room that will be done after this class is done.

This render I really liked it, while it is dark, people are still able to see what it is. That is a screenshot of the balcony.
This picture is not going to ArtStation, but I wanted to show the good and the bad of the throne scene. This is from the bottom floor and could have been more highlighted. Also is too opaque and murky to appreaciate the details.
Also this pic is not going to be posted on ArtStation neither. Once again it needs to have a bit more lighting. Also my computer was taking days of rendering with no breaks in between. It started from Monday all the way to Thursday so there is no need to exhaust the PC again.
This is another scene that made it to the portfolio. The fogginess in the scene was made by aiAtmosphereVolume in Maya.
The final render here being the whole scene. This would be my thumbnail since it is the most eye catching one. Lastly, there were certain things I wanted to do like create texture spheres, but due to time constraints could not fulfill it.

Most Games Will be Gone Forever

Most games before the 2010's will be lost forever. This news came in July of this year but that doesn't mean that the gaming community should stop talking about it. It is regarding on the lack of preservation of older games. This is quite an important topic for me because I have been playing games since the PlayStation 1.                                                       (My PS1 console that I still use.) There are plenty of games that I have saved since my childhood and some have been lost to time, but I am just one person, how about the industry at large?  In the site Video Game History Foundation has stated that 87% of games will be lost forever. They have mentioned that the copyright laws on preservation are outdated and further worsen saving gaming history. Regarding copyright,  Digital Millennium Copyrigh...

Balcony Railing

Currently, I am working on a throne scene in Maya for my texturing and lighting portfolio. What has been completed for the scene is texturing part of the balcony. All the textures here are made by scratch and although I haven't been experimental with textures before, it has been a fun process. On the other hand, the gold could be darker, but that could be done later.  In the bottom the picture, is what I plan to do once the throne scene is finished. To show all the textures spheres for my portfolio.

More Balcony Details and a Marble Floor

Another part of the balcony finished, as well as, the marble floor for the main hallway. Although the floor could be smaller in size, since it is a bit large and somewhat blurry.  At the bottom is a rendered image of what I have so far. In the scene there is an HDRI as a place holder for the lights. Once everything is finished on the left side of the scene, it will be duplicated for the right side. Over here is the large marble floor. I do plan to duplicate it and put the floors smaller so the details could be sharper in quality. Finally, the next tasks for the project is to create textures on the outer walls of the balcony and put wood textures at the sides of the marble floor.
